Dine n Dash, episode 10: Jessica Wu
Another quick blog update for the kiddos paying attention!
This has been quite a year. Here is episode 10 of Dine n Dash, a series that accidentally fell into my lap early last year when I decided to go grab food with my friends Anajah and Camille – and film it. We ate at a diner, talking about their relationships with food and how their jobs affected those relationships. Ten videos later, I am pleasantly surprised by the incredible feedback these videos have gotten, and the people that take the time to share their stories and show love to the series. I can’t even begin to thank you all for supporting them.
Through all of the creative anxiety and stress I put on myself for not producing enough, taking " too much” time to be alone, and making space to grow, the love is always there. I see it online, and I feel it offline. People dream of feeling this acceptance. I am just so grateful that so many people have given my friends a chance to tell their stories and listen to them, regardless of the stigmas and taboos surrounding our careers. You have opened your hearts to what I am doing, and all I can say in return is
Episode 10 of Dine n Dash is with a lovely model, friend, peer, and founder, Jessica Wu! Jessica started the lovely platform called Period Space, an informative site discussing menstruation and the cultural influences that affect our perception of our bodies. We sat down at Kopitiam in the Lower East Side, ate some desserts and ranted. I love this video so much, and it took me far too long to finally edit and put it out there.
I hope you enjoy, and continue to enjoy this series. It means the world to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
